hi there, I made my pc back in 2010 and since then I've swapped out graphic cards and its been perfect. However recently the amount of memory I have just isn't enough and I want to step it up a notch and add more.

the only thing is that I am unsure if I should buy more ram and add to what I have now or just buy a 2 or 3 new sticks and replace my old ram all together.

Current RAM: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224
Current MOBO: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6X58D_Premium/

any opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. thank you :D

you are not bottlenecked by the ram. 6GB is fine for most things today. only recently, the first game requiring 6GB as a minimum is the witcher 3, so if you really want more performance you might want to get a newer GPU (if you dont have a modern one), but if you do have a modern (or at least semi modern) GPU, then you might want to change your platform to the more modern LGA1150 or AM3+ platforms.

my situation is im running down to the last 200 megs of ram, i have a 970 and its Vram is fine 3.5 of it at least but yah, anything i do in terms of games and sometimes even software pushes my 6 gig's to its absolute limit.
