Antec High Performance Gamer vs Supernova G2 vs XFX Pro 750 Black Edition

I'm looking to replace my current power supply (it's about 5 years old now...) and see where the Supernova and XFX power supplies are "Tier 1" according to the Tier list found on the site. However the Antec PSU is a tier 2 and currently on sale more much less. I have a Radeon 7950 GPU and 2010 intel i7 processor - should I be comfortable with the Antec or should I pony up for the more expensive PSU?

I have the TruePowerClassic and its great. Unless you are doing SLI and overclocking past 4.5ghz I wouldn't worry about it.

Antec will be plenty, any 550+ wattage psu from antec/xfx/seasonic, evga b2/g2 series, superflower are great quality psus, and will last a while.

My last Antec psu lasted me 14 years! thats with heavy overclocking and usage.

The Antec-HCG power supply is very good. You won't need a higher end model. Is it the 620w that is on sale?

Thanks for the feedback all! It was the Antec HCG-M 750 I saw on sale. ($65 on Amazon which is half of the other PSUs. That low price was also what was scaring me off but we'll see how it goes!) I guess while there's still time to cancel the order - that is the same PSU listed as a tier 2 PSU right? Thanks!

The one thing that annoys about this site, is I keep having to see everyone in the US getting hardware so much cheaper than we get in the UK! 60 bucks man, that's a great deal.

Thanks for making the decision harder Blackbird - I'll probably stick with the Antec as the $65 price is without rebates (automatic coupon at checkout) plus Prime shipping so I can work on it this weekend. Are there any noticeable differences between the two that would tilt the scale towards the B2?

Antec HCG and EVGA B2 units both rest in Tier 2A of The List.

Surely their respective quality is close enough to avoid a round of Rebate Roulette. . . ?

They are already top quality... It's just that Super Flower is even better.

You are 140% fine with the Antec's and the B2's.

I'll probably stick with the Antec as it's already ordered (still time to cancel) but I guess my big question here between the HCG and the G2: am I mainly considering the power efficiency between the two or is there a dependability/failure factor I should be considering?
