I have a AMD 760k, i want to upgrade my gpu to a gtx 960 but i was wondering if my cpu would bottleneck it?

It might actually, I'd opt for something like a FX-6300 if you would like to stick with AMD. An affordable solution would be opting for a Pentium processor and overclocking it.

What are you upgrading FROM?
There's always a restriction in the framerate somewhere, but I don't think it'll be too severe in this case if you have a 1080 monitor, after all, you can always load up the graphics card with more eye candy without suffering a performance penalty.
