APU + 4GB 1600Mhz or 1866Mhz still giving only 5.9 Memory WEI Score

I know WEI is crap. But it lets me know quickly if something is wrong.

Well anyways I've had APU's before with only 4gbs and got WEI Memory 7.2-7.4 scores before(thats when everything was running correctly)
I also tried forcing 1GB in bios and using Auto and I get same Memory Score.
Would lower timing ram or higher fix it?

Well now i have a A10-7850k with
1x Ballistix Tracer Tactical 1866Mhz 4GB 5.9 Score

and I've tested with
2x Gskill 2gb=4GB 1600Mhz 5.9 score again.

I made sure in bios and other software that it is absolutely running the ram at correct speed.

Any Suggestions? I can't remember how I've done it before.

I am pretty sure 4x 1GB's would do it lol but thats too silly and won't even fit on MB

Thanks
J

WEI is rather worthless, it doesn't really give an indication of performance, I don't know of any systems folks that even look at it. Be better off getting something like Si-Sandra and run the DRAM bench marks - it will let you compare yours to other like systems...It's quite possible you could have 2x2GB of 2800 sticks and get the same score from WEI ;)

Eh.. not what i asked. I use it for a certain reason and I explained it. for some reason. when i get 2x2GB to get 6.8++ on Ram WEI the computer acts way different from 5.9 score. (I DON'T KNOW WHY)

So i can't remember what ram i used. so mad . I will try

So know help on this one :/ just odd that some computers will handle this easy. seriously thinking to experiment with 4x 1GB kit. but same time such bit** to find at fast speed and right price. i know there is a 2x2gb kit out there that will get me good performance for APU

you say 1 stick of 1866 vs 2 sticks of 1600 give the same score? You are losing the dual channel on the 1 stick, dunno if that's what windows is judging though.

I would recommend not going with 4x1GB sticks as I've read the APU's performance sufferes compared with 2 sticks

IT may be worthless but putting a picture of it up when you sell a computer helps immensely. Totally off topic and irrelevant to the post but I had the urge to mention.

To answer your question original poster. Windows is judging not on the performance of the ram but quantity. I have 8gb in two machines both at 1866 and 1600 just like yours and it only gives me 7.3 and 7.2. Every time new hardware comes out Windows updates the "scoring" system. I would be surprised if even 2x2GB of DDR3 2400 Cas 12 would show higher than a 7.0

Yeah starting to build some computers atm but not working on APU at the moment. but i did notice when i put in g skill 2x 8gb=16gb 2400mhz. it got me a 5.9 but when i put dual channel g skill sniper 2x4gb=8gb 2400mhz (same timing) 7.5
