CPU runs 100% while playing games, need help!

Hello, I've got some cpu temperature problems. Started for a few days ago, my PC screen was just turning it off/got black when I played games, and it wouldn't start. But noticed my CPU fan didn't work/start. I changed the cable, it worked after I done that. I got some crazy temperature fall. From 70-90 when not playing but when I open a game it goes from 95+ but constantly 100%
I have used another new tube of paste on my CPU, still not working.. It seems my CPU gets overheated for a weird reason.. I hope someone can help me with this!

Check the fan speeds and connections. Something seems wrong with the fan.

All right. I did now go to my bios and change the fan speed on my CPU. My speed was on 20% but changed to 50%.
But it's still too hot, it went crazy from 70% to around 90%. Without playing games, I don't know what the problem is.. If the cpu fan is broken, but it's working.I can see the fans are moving ? But what are you actually thinking what my problem is? Btw, when I start my computer after shutdown, my temperature is around 30-50c

What cpu do you have and what cooler do you have?

CPU is an Intel i7-4790k
About the cooler, is an intergrated it followed my cpu when I bought it

Stock cooler would get a bit warm, but it should not get that warm while gaming. Did you apply too little or too much thermal compound?

Im assuming you put way to much paste if you said you used a whole tube.

Do you mean cooler paste? I had the glue during the entire Processor. I have anyway bought me a new cpu cooler/fan

Your only suppose to put a thin line on the processor, and then seat the CPU cooler, allowing it to spread the paste between its contact area.

Aha! So you mean I should only put a line in the middle of the processor so it can spread itself?

Yup, there are plenty of guides on the internet and various methods of application. I think the line method is the best.

I used a pea-size drop method on mine and it works fine. I get 35°C idle and 70°C high load temps running that CPU at stock 4 GHz on a Hyper TX3 cooler. The only games which run my CPU usage above 60% are Crysis 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I have used tube of paste now, so let's see. I did see I used too much paste last time, everything was messey. Big flood

Too much paste seems like trouble. Hopefully you did not damage the motherboard.

I used the paste like a peanut size, but it' still hot. Not like 100% but on playing it's around 75-90
Idle is around 50-70. Maybe a new cooler fan for my processor?
