Wireless devices can connect to the internet, but not the wired desktop

I just finished building a new PC yesterday, and after connecting it to the modem via ethernet cable it could access the internet just fine, even after multiple resets.

After this specific reset, however, the internet connection just stopped altogether. Resetting the modem, unplugging and plugging the cables back in, replacing the cable with a brand new one, resetting the computer again, getting tech support to reset the modem from their end and even doing the dnsflush thing from the command line did nothing.

I can access the modem just fine and see the other laptop that's connected to the network, which is connected wirelessly and can access the internet just fine, but nothing I do can restore my internet connection on the desktop

EDIT: Nevermind. I just used System Restore to go back to when the internet was working and everything seems to be doing fine now.
