I am going to buying a processor but I am a bit confused. The i3 3220(Costliest), the Pentium G3258 or The AMD A6 6400K.I would be pairing it with a GT 730.I will NOT overclock.
Will the A6 be good, because I am not interested in buying an aftermarket fan and I have heard that AMD's run real HOT.I don't want an overheating PC:??:

An APU is a waste when you already have a good discrete GPU. So I would skip the A6 6400k.

If you are NOT an overclocker, get a locked CPU and H series board and just look for the fastest stock speed between those CPUs.

If you look at the AMD side pretty much all AMD FX CPUs are unlocked and overclock very well when paired with a good 970 board. You won't get the most benefit from AMD unless you overclock.

OK,after a bit more search, the i3 3150 fits my budget,so,shall I go for that one.
And, Overclocking reduces the life of the processor and I want to use to for at least 4-5-yrs

Also, I think hyper-threading should do better than plain 2 cores

OOPS,I made a mistake.It is not a 3150, it is a 4150 LGA 1150 haswell one.So,shall I go for it ?

Also, is this rig good for a bit high end gaming and some long use
(I will be using it for about 5-6hrs for work and I want to keep it COOL)

  • Intel i3 4150 (LGA 1150)
LG GH24NSC0 DVD Writer 24x SATA Internal OEM
Deepcool Tesseract Sw Mid Tower Computer Case
Corsair VS Series VS450 - 450 Watt SMPS
Corsair Vengeance 4GB Single Module DDR3 Memory
    GALAXY GeForce GT 730 GC 1GB DDR5 PCI-E 64Bit
MSI H81M-P33 LGA 1150 Socket Intel H81 Express Chipset

Thanks :)

In order to answer your gaming question it would be good to know what size monitor and resolution you will be playing on?

If you're looking for high details you may want to consider a better graphics card and thus, PSU. If you're playing on lower resolutions with low to medium details, that setup will do ok.

Yup, 720p will be what I am looking for, so no high resolution needed.
Will the Corsair CX series do better and is there something that I don't know about the VX series ?

Can you provide a link of a good and reliable power supply(amazon)
