I am currently looking into getting a gtx 970 to replace my 295. However, I would also like to upgrade my power supply along with my video card.

I was just wondering what wattage PSU you would recommend for my future system.

Specs:
Cpu - Intel i5-3570k
Mobo - Asrock z77m
Gpu - GeForce gtx 970
Ram - corsair vengeance 8 gb

My current PSU would probably be fine, however, it is old and I think a newer one would go well with a new gpu.

The GTX970 is fairly power-frugal for all the performance it offers. A good 500W PSU would be fine for your build. I recommend a model built by Seasonic (their own, XFX, EVGA GS, some Antec), Super Flower (Rosewill Capstone, Kingwin Lazer, EVGA G2 & B2), or Delta (some Antec).

Alright, well thanks for your help. I don't really know much in the way of choosing the best PSU but I'm going to check out the ones that you have listed. Thanks again and have a nice day.
