Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me. My computer keeps crashing and it gives the "whea_uncorrectable_error" message.

I'm not even overlocking the CPU. All running on default settings. BIOS updates. Clean install of windows 8.1 pro x64.

Hardware:
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV black edition - Default settings
Processor: i7-4930k 6 core 3.4ghz - not OCed
Processor cooler: Corsair h100i
Power supply: Evga supernova 1300w g2
Graphics card: Evga gtx760 SC
Storage: Samsung 840 evo SSD

I would much appreciate your help.

- overclocked GPU can cause a power fluctuation to the CPU that can cause this failure.
- problems with your Corsair h100i cooler can cause the CPU to overheat and you get this failure
(pump stops, vapor in the cooling loop)

the uptime listed in the memory dump file is also useful in figuring out the problem, best to put the memory .dmp file on a server and post a link.

note: the win32k.sys stack might be related to a malware attack on the font subsystem. You might be able to delete this file and get running again: C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT
then do a repair of your system with the dism.exe command>
---------------
I guess your crash dump file could be corrupted. I will check.
----------------

you got a bugcheck in win32k.sys and the
debugger reports
1036 errors : win32k (fffff960001720ff-fffff96000172545)

your win32k.sys file is corrupted in memory and your system was only up for 59 seconds before it crashed.

I would assume you have malware.

I would run cmd.exe as an admin then run
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

and attempt to repair your files. Then run a malwarebytes scan to figure out what corrupted the files in the first place.

you might even want to wipe this machine and re install the OS. there are just problems with the hardware install. (but it may be due to the corrupted win32k.sys, or for some reason the windows debugger does not like your version of windows.)

I have reinstalled windows 8.1 from microsoft and its x64. as soon as my computer loaded it gave me this error and has been doing it since then. do you think installing windows 8 then upgrading will make it a difference?
thank you

you have to find out why your win32k.sys file was corrupted.
if you can keep your system up long enough to run
a malwarebytes scan then

cmd.exe as an admin, then run
sfc.exe /scannow
and the dism.exe command i posted in the other message.

something corrupted your file, either your original copy is corrupted before you installed or you have malware corrupting it after the install. would not think it is random corruption because there were so many files that were not corrupted in the memory dump. Malware tends to target win32k.sys file.

I have now done just like you said, run the malware check and done dicm.exe.
just a quick note, last night I lowered my cpu core to 2ghz and took hyperthreading off and i havent crashed since. i have however put all my settings back to normal: that is cpu is now back on 3.4ghz all default setting.
