Display Port keeps losing signal

I have a Sapphire r9 280x overclocked graphics card. I am trying to run three monitors, one with DVI, one with a DVI to VGA adapter (plugging the vga into my monitor), and one using an active DP port.

It all works, it's all nicely set up, my main monitor being the DVI port. The issue is that my DP monitor has been losing signal with increasing frequency. The weird part is that windows still recognizes that it's plugged in, so when it loses signal all the icons and windows stay over on it, but cant be interacted with because, well, i cant see them. The only thing that I've been able to do to get it to regain signal is either restarting my computer, or re-seating the adapter for DP. This get's really frustrating, for obvious reasons.

Finally, yesterday, it started freaking out and i got a windows message saying that there was a DP error, but it didn't tell me what, just it was either the adapter or the requested resolution, but being 1080p res would make me think it isnt that...

My concern is that my graphics card may have a problem with it, but hopefully it's just a setting?

Any help would be appreciated, and I can post more info if it is needed! Thanks guys :)

It could be the card, however a faulty cable seems far more likely. the fact that all of the other ports are working leads me to suspect the cable more than the card. Try contacting the cable manufacturer and see wast they have to say, they may let you return it or replace it. I am afraid there is no good way to test the card without first proving the cable good, as buying a new card is a much bigger investment.

unfortunately the only way for me to try a different cable would be to re-order it online, as no stores around here offer them... The monitor isn't faulty, i've tried switching it with my normal DVI monitor and it works just fine. Is it even likely/possible to be the card?
