When shopping for motherboard, look at it's specs. It will define compatible RAM, including type (DDR3 in your case) and supported clock rates (1600MHz in your case). It is possible, and quite likely, that a motherboard will support even higher clock rates than the RAM you're getting, which is of course just fine.
1150 is the CPU socket type (defining which CPUs are compatible with the board) and has nothing to do with RAM.
