Instead of having the RAID option in BIOS can i set it to IDE for a straight forward install of Windows 7 using only 1 500 Gig

Hi, just wanted to ask please, i have a pc with a Gigabyte GA-8S655FX-L Motherboard with the AGP8X on board graphics Dual channel DDR400+ Memory structure & Intel (R) Pentium 4 3.2 Gig Processor and am going to be programming it with windows 7 on a single 500 Gig Hard drive with 4 Gig of DDR400 PC3200 Ram fitted and my question is this ..

Seeing as i am only going to be using the 1 500 gig Sata Hard drive can i change the RAID setting in the Bios to IDE for an easier straight forward install of the program, i have no intention of fitting another drive as its not for gaming its just a straightforward pc so as far as i'm concerned the RAID function will be surplus to requirements.

I'm not bad with computers i can usually fix most problems whether it be program problems or hardware issues but i'm no expert and am still learning as i go so the straightforward easy route is good with me ;)

Thanks
Andy

Thanks for your reply aford10 much appreciated, i just wanted to make sure it would be a straight forward install by changing RAID in BIOS to IDE and only using the one drive. I have done at least four or five clean installs but it has so far been Windows XP / XP Pro this will be the 1st Windows 7 install i've done and i want it to go without a hitch i hate having to mess about.

Thanks again for your input ;)
