Need Help asap!!! GPU

ok soo awhile back i bought a ATI Radeon 4670, only thing it didnt have was the cd, Card Garunteed to work, well my pc wont detect it as being in my pcie slot, which really pisses me off, i seen a thread earlier of a guy who had the same problem, he fixed his but never posted how to marked the answer that worked soo i know its fixable but i just dont know how, ive done everything, and all to no avail.... please please please someone tell me how to fix im open too all answers, im tired of having a perfectlyu capable gpu in a box when i could be playing games with my brother

so you did got the new psu? did you plug your monitor to the 4670(and not the motherboard)?

Processor- AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
MOBO- Acer Aspire x1200
Ram- 3gb ddr2 800mhz
Onboard GPU- Nvidia Geforce 8200
Caviar Blue 160gb HDD

thats all i know really, and yes its kinda a Frankenstein computer

and my cousin hasnt had a chance to get it here soo i aint been able to test that theory about the psu yet, but if at all possible id like to see if i could pssibly get it wrking properly before the psu gets here

Possible specifications page for the Acer X1200

If these are indeed the correct specifications, then my first guess would be that the 220 watt power supply is not sufficient for the graphics card.

The PSU i have isnt actually the original acer aspire x1200 psu its from and emachine el 1200-06w its a 230 watt psu

im really wanting to see if it can work on this PSU because id love to actually play some halfway decent games, on the Onboard gpu my limit is smite at 30 fps

Even a 230 watt PSU isn't likely enough to power that card. You'd need something more along the lines of a 450 watt power supply for that system.

ok guys i might be getting a new computer tomorrow, with a 80+ platinum PSU 4gb of ddr3 an amd athlon x2 2.6ghz PSU integrated gpu, i think it would be a good canidate for the 4670?

Have you ever been able to test your AMD Radeon HD4670 in another system? At this point, I'm beginning to think that your "Garunteed to work" card is dead.

I haven't had the opportunity to check it in another system because my brother or nephew neither one are willing to uninstall there drivers for the current GPU's

Ok I fixed it xD turns out the card was dead soo I figured why the hell not I threw it in the oven at 385 for 10 minutes. Took it out put thermal paste on it and my heat sink and plugged it in.... Booted right up and I was floored in amazement that something that sounds soo stupid actually worked! I'll go ahead and say it it could work and could not im not responsible if it makes anyone's card worse. There is a 50 50 chance of it working I got lucky on blind luck...
