I like an uncluttered desktop, so I keep my icons hidden (pretty wallpaper!). However, my icons keep reappearing whenever I reboot my computer, forcing me to re-hide them. How can I prevent this from happening?

Hi right click on desktop. In the window that appears uncheck the SHOW DESKTOP ICONS. Don't forget to also right click on the Taskbar. Then click Toolbars and check/tick DESKTOP You will then be able to access all your desktop items from the taskbar. To make your desktop more uncluttered (if you have not done so ) Right click the taskbar and click properties. Check auto hide taskbar and save changes. Your taskbar will be hidden also. To access the taskbar just move your mouse to the bottom of the screen

I already know how to hide the icons. The problem is that when I reboot the computer, all my icons are visible again. How do I prevent them from reappearing upon a reboot?

Never thought to try it. Next time it happens I'll give it a try and let you know what happens.

It still shouldn't happen, though....

EDIT: No luck with F5.

I HAVE ALREADY STATED THAT THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW THE BLEEP DID IT GET SELECTED BY SOMEONE ELSE????[/strike]

All better ... until somebody comes along and does this again. Close the thread, since I don't even remember what I did to solve my problem and I can't find the thread I used to do it?
