Hi everybody,
I have had my current system for over 2 years, the specs are:
i5-3570k
ASRock z77 extreme 4
ASUS GTX 670
Corsair TX750M
2 x 4GB Kingston Hyper X 1600
It's a pretty solid build for my uses. I don't overclock, or intentionally push it to its limits.
However, for the past few days, I've been absolutely stumped. I've read dozens of other threads regarding my issue:
My computer will not boot when I have NVIDIA drivers installed on it. It boots perfectly fine in safe mode and even normal mode without drivers.
When I try to boot with NVIDIA drivers, it will freeze at the "starting windows" screen then the screen will abruptly scramble, almost like how an old TV would jumble up when the connection is suddenly lost. Afterward, it will blue screen for half a second then attempt to reboot. The blue screen flashes too quickly for me to see the error code,
To sum up the things I've tried
1. Initially I thought it was a HDD issue. I've had the same 1tb WD Black Caviar for 3 years so today I purchased a brand new WD Red 3tb on sale. This didn't work.
2. I've reinstalled video drivers about a dozen times, which included fully removing NVIDIA from the registry, appdata, and program files.
3. I've re-ported and moved my video card over and over to the other PCI-E slot but it has had no effect.
4. I've updated my mobo's chipset
5. I've reformatted and reinstalled windows
Could I be looking at a hardware failure?
If anybody has a solution, please help me out!
Trevor
