I just built a new computer, and I've encountered something strange. I can not get my computer to boot while my processor is powered by my PSU. But, the moment that I unplug my PSU from my CPU I get twirling fans and such when I press the power button on my case. When my CPU is plugged in and I press the button, literally nothing happens.

Solution
There are 2 connectors that plug directly into the motherboard, the 24PIN connector which usually connects to the side of the motherboard and the 4+4PIN connector that's usually placed near the VRM heatsinks of the motherboard

As i7Baby said, make sure both are connected.
