Hi everyone,

First build here and Im probably overthinking everything but I have a question about the cx600m and need to think out loud. The PSU has four places to plug in cables labeled 6+2 PCIe & 4 x 4 CPU and SATA & Peripheals. The 24 pin and 8 pin 12 volt cables are hard wired into the PSU.

The obvious connection that sticks out is the PCIe 6+2 as it has 8 pins. The rest have 6 pins. I'm confused as to why the PSU says 4x4 CPU if there's only one 8 pin connection. Maybe does that mean the 8 pin input can be used as 8 pin PCIe or 4x4 CPU? Does that mean that there are three available plugs for SATA and Peripheals?

Thanks for any insight

Solution

For a Corsair full modular psu, the cpu cable has to go into that same type of slot. They probably didn't want to change the printing so it is left as "6+2 PCIE & 4+4 CPU"

That makes sense too, so when looking at the picture, the bottom left port (6 pin under the PCIe 8 pin) is a safe port to plugin in the wires that the psu comes with that have Molex connectors?

Yes it is safe

Yes, that 6pin receptacle (bottom left) is meant for both the molex and SATA cables also.
