Go though each and set to default and test them all. If that fails verify that the BERG connectors from your case that you plugged into your motherboard are in the correct spots. * side note * can you get connectivity from the back I/O Panel with your mic?
I am able to get connectivity when I use a USB microphone but when I plug in my headset through the mic port even though it appears as it is connected when I try to do a microphone setup it does not appear to work.

Within windows navigate to the speaker icon in the bottom right taskbar right click. Select Recording devices and see if it is set to the default Device. If not set it to that device if it is and it is still not functioning open the device and troubleshoot.
I have three options, I currently have my headphones connected to the back mic port of my computer. I have three options in the recording devices. 1. Microphone (Realtek HD Audio) That is set as my default device. 2. Then there is a line in 3. Stereo Mix
It's not working..
