Lots of People Complain about Corsair RM Series PSU that they are not Good.
The have no High quality Components.IS it True?

One other thing I want to know:
Can you list out the PSU which have 100% Japanese Capacitors?

I dont want to compromise my Expernsive Hardware because of a Low Quality PSU

I believe most (all?) Seasonic PSU's have Japanese capacitors (they are also re-baged as Corsair AX and XFX units - see the link the others have provided), as do the EVGA G2 and P-series (based off the SuperFlower Leadex platform).

can any body list out 750 w and 550 w versions of differenct power supply companies (80 plus gold Rating) which have 100% japanese capacitors?

The sure way to check is to go over and look at the PSU on jonnyguru. While I appreciate the folks who put the effort onto making "tier lists", I have found that neither I (or Jonniy I would think) would agree with all their subjective ratings and the tendency to credit quality to a whole model line because a review of one size was rated this or that.

For example, while I would give the Corsair HX series (650 - 850) deserves a tier 1 rating, the HX 1000 and 1050 would get a tier 3

Also by looking at the numbers yourself categorically, you can decide how to subjectively rate the units based upon what is important to you. For example, a tier based upon an overall jonnyguru ratiung is of no use to me as I don't care about 2 of the 4 categories by which they rate PSUs. Value and Functionality are very subjective and price changes....

First thing I look at is voltage stability, followed by ripple
Then I look at the componentry

Platinum, Gold, Solver, Bronze I don't give a hoot.
Unless individually sleeving the cables, I would rather have semi or hybrid modular than full modular.

As to your question, it's a bit hard to anser in that the 650-750 are very different than the 850 and 100

RM 550 and 650 are made by Channelwell w/ a mish mash of different capacitors. The 860 scored 9.5 on performance and 7.0 on build quality

RM 750 and 850 are made by Chicony w/ enough Ltec capacitors which are low quality to be concerned. The 850 scored 9.5 on performance and 8.5 on build quality

The RM750 and RM850 that were made by Chicony have been discontinued. When Corsair appointed a new product manager, a few months ago, the OEM for the RM 750 and RM850 was changed to CWT. Those two models are now constructed with Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors on both the PSU's primary and secondary.

New OEM (CWT)
RM750 (RPS0019 / CP-9020055)
RM850 (RPS0020 / CP-9020056)

Old OEM (Chicony) Discontinued
RM750 (75-001937 / CP-9020055)
RM850 (75-001938 / CP-9020056)

Interesting an ironic at the same time.....The Chicony 750 / 850 models reviewed by jonny scored substantially better than the 550 and 650's made CWTs. Would love to have been a fly on the all at that meeting "whaddyasay we dump the guys who scored 8.5 on build quality and give it to the guys who scored a 7.0 :)

That's another problem with tier lists and PSUs in general. Like monitors and RAM, it's quite common to build units using quality components and then after all the reviews are done, switch suppliers. That;s why I'd hesitate to create tire list of list of units w/ all japanese caps because once it's out there, the vendor has good reason to change it.

Any tear down reviews on these new versions yet ?

Yeah I would expect so.... CWT is certainly capable of great PSUs.... I used to laugh when peeps would say "Get a Corsair HX, is a great PSU... it's made by Seasonic" when actually only the 650 was... the highly rated ones (750/850) were CWT... but then again, the 1000 and 1050 were also CWT and they kinda stunk. That's why tier lists don't do it for me as OEM tie ins for a model line are assumed to represent the same quality across the line.

Correct. CWT has taken over all of our RM units . That said, Chicony units are still out there in the channel and people could end up with either one.

Really? You call that list "comprehensive"? Its a hodge podge of personal opinions of board members. Its a clumsy tool at best. For comparative analysis, its borderline worthless.

The RM, even in its Chicony form, is much better than a tier 3 unit.
