pc does not start with gtx 970

My Asus P8-Z77-V will not even start up with an Asus GTX 970 Direct CU Mini. The led on the card goes white with the power plugged into the card but remove the power plug and the led goes red. With the power removed from the card the pc will start but I switch off immediately. Can any one help please?

What PSU do you have? Make sure the card is full seated in the PCI-E slot.

Thanks for your response. I have a Thermaltake TR2 RX-550 and the card looks to be fully inserted.

That is not a very good PSU. I would suspect it is the problem.

That's what I was thinking. It might not be getting the correct amount of power to the card.

If you want modular, this is the best one for the money. Anything less expensive isn't very good quality.
