Hi, i am being offered these two cards and i was wondering which one was better? I always liked nvidia better since they have better drivers and game support but reading reviews the 2 are pretty much equal, i don't want to be changing gpu soon (at least not in the next year or two) so i was wondering if the extra ram on the 290 was worth it.
AMD R9 290 4 gb or Nvidia gtx780 3 gb

If you have to buy them around market value, I suggest waiting for the 390/390X to come out, which will drive card prices down.
I lean toward the 290. The cards are about equal at 1080p, but the 290 pulls ahead at 1440 and 4k. The freesync monitors are also cheaper than the gsync counterparts if you want to go that way. The 780 does draw a little les power, but that's unlikely to make any difference in the PSU you need.
What is the make/model of your PSU, by the way?
