Hello so back in 2013 I bought
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

I want to upgrade my ram to 16GB is it ok to buy the same ram and install it, or would I be better of buying a kit of 16GB and selling my 8gb to someone?

Solution
Buying a kit of 16bg will always be the better option because they are tested to work together. However, you should have no problems just adding another 8. There is no guarantee they will work together but they most likely will. It's up to you the route you want to take.
