About asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 ram compatability

Is the G.Skill Ripjaws 8g(4x2) ddr3 1866 Model F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM compatible with asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 motherboard? Or will it be compatible compatible with a single 8g ram (same brand)?

I would go with 1600mhz.

USE 2 - 4GB Modules so that it runs in DUAL channel mode.

i have one on the list that i found in the site but i also wanted to know if a single 8g ram stick would work since it is not listed in the QVL, is it possible to go for single 8g ram?

You want it to run in Dual channel mode , so you buy 2 - 4gb modules , the QVL list is never complete or updated in a timely fashion.

If it is the same model other than the 2, 4, 8, 16 etc, then it should work. As SR 71 mentioned though, going with 2 sticks is better than 1 higher GB stick.

asus m5a99fx pro r2.0
WD 1tb cavier blue
evga 500 80+bronze
nzxt source 220 with side panel
corsair h100i
ram will be decided soon..
and i haven't decided if i should got gtx 750i or gtx 960..

what do you think guys?

FX CPU and ASUS 990FX can handle DDR3-1866 just fine. The memory you originally picked is perfect.
