So this is the finalized build i came up with out of the suggestions ... anything wrong with this other than the fact i chose a z97 board isntead of h because it was only 10 bucks more same brand and has an m2 port for an internal ssd.

Ill also be adding a 2tb seagate hybrid 7200rpm and a 2tb wd green that i already have as well as a blueray player and pci 4 port usb 3 card and a tv tuner leftover from old comp

The only thing im still unsure is the radeon 2gb 270x vs the 280 i picked ... both are around the same price ...

Any comments advice or just good to go comments appreciated !

good looking out ... i just wasn't sure if the x behind it meant it might be better than the 280 because the 280x is another 40+ bucks that i don't wanna spend so it was between regular 280 or the 270x but makes sense.
This is the first comp I've been able to afford (put all my money in camera equipment and suffer during editing) in a few years and i wanna be blown away by the results, so you think itl be like night and day compare to my 2.8 Phenom II x6, 1gb Radeon HD6570 , 8gb ddr3 1033 ?

And ...

1) Also, can i take out 2, 4 gig sticks off the old comp and put those into the extra 2 slots on the new build along witht he 2 8's ? Or will that bottleneck the other ram down to its speed ? It would be nice to have 24gb of ram in there ...
2) is there any advantage to getting a similarly (maybe 10-20 bucks more) unlocked I5 and overclock it or would that be a lot of hassle and more money to cool it (cooling etc) for minor difference in the programs i'm running ?
3) I read somewhere that the xeon only takes 1600 ram ? Am i wasting money and/or speed (mainly CAS / latency) by buying 2133 CAS 11 rather than 1600 CAS 8 or 9 for same price ?

1. Mixing RAM kits is always a bit weird. It may work, it may not.

2. No. Video editing is far more reliant on having more threads than faster threads. I would keep the Xeon.

3. In general its not a good use of money to buy fast RAM. Only in very specific applications does RAM performance make a noticeable difference. 1600/1866Mhz CL9 is the sweet spot.
