Hello, so I had my friend give me suggestions for PC parts for a new gaming pc too build however I am having trouble finding specific parts, I know it's a big ask but if someone could tell me what specific parts too use it would be deeply appreciated.

This is what he said:
Killer or Asrock motherboard with 2 x PCIE slots for video cards and supports SLI for later expansions.
Intel i7 processor
4Gb video card if available 2GB will be ok Nividia SLI is best for gaming
SSD HDD to hold programs and games and another HDD for data
Antec Case the more fans the better as it will get hot in NQ
PSU to have 2 x PCIE with 2 x 8 connections for video cards

Budget isn't really an issue at the moment, I will use it mainly for gaming but it will be used for studying as well and maybe a bit of photo editing, and I live in Australia, Queensland

I don't think you need an i7 for photo editing, much less the fact that it's a bit overpowered for a 970. (Also there's the debacle of the 970s not ACTUALLY having 4gbs, only 3.5)

You don't NEED SLI, and it can cause more headaches than it's worth.

Your friend isn't "wrong" but he's kinda making you spend more money than you really need to be.

This is a bit better balanced:

There's no need for a H100i if he isn't overclocking, and since you didn't give him a K version processor or a Z series board, he can't do that. At most he'll need the CM 212 EVO. Also considering the diference in our builds are $69, then I'd just go ahead and get the 4790K. Will he need it? No. But it won't hurt to have it.

I gave it to him to combat the general heat issues of Australia.

why would you recommend he spend so much on mobob and cpu... downgrade cpu to i5(not a lot of difference between i5 and i7 in gaming performance) and get cheaper mobo that still supports sli and get gtx 980, it will fare much better in gaming...
