Installed my Gigabyte G1 GTX 980 lastnight went to bed and started playing Battlefield: Hardline this morning.
Now the problem is that the FPS isn't really bad but for a 980 it should be ALOT better but at the moment it's really inconsistent, it will go from 90 down to 60 and even sometimes 40 - 50 on certain maps (Dustbowl, Everglades, Riptide).

I was getting the better performance on my R9 290 and it never dropped below 60 ever. I've reinstalled drivers but it didn't seem to do much...

I completely uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled. My idle temp is roughly 35 - 40c and playing Hardline it's roughly 60c. I'm a using a Molex cable because my PSU didn't have the correct connectors, could my poor PSU be causing it?

It's not a known brand PSU, It doesn't have the correct pin connectors hence why i'm having to use a molex cable...
Would getting a better PSU such as corsair improve performance because it has the correct pin connectors?

dude if it isn't a known brand toss it idmedality you risk your psu failing taking out all your components with it and let me tell you it will be a real shame but it also appears while the psu can power the pc it doesn't provide the gpu with enough power to perform at its full level ,so if you i would recommend you get a new one asap

Alright, i think ill re install my 290 and use that until i get a new PSU :)
It's not hard putting a new PSU in right? Just pretty much plugging everything back in to it original places?

Also any recommendations from this website? http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=15
I don't plan on going SLI in the future...
