Games and Youtube freezes if i leave it for a while

Hey guys so i have this problem that when i leave my computer and i have a game up and i go and take a shower for example i come back and my computer has frozen the same thing can also happen when i watch videos on youtube. And leave the computer do you guys know how to fix this ? I dont think it has anything to do with my hardware i thing it might have to do with my Hardrive because it has been acting and is a bit dodgy. Thanks in enhance :)

Should be something in Event Viewer.
Start Run, type eventvwr.msc. Go to Windows->System, create Filter and choose critical errors.

If its the HDD, could it be powersaving? By default, powersaving on HDD comes on after 20 mins of inactivity. Go to Control panel to adjust that. Power Options->Change/adjust plan setting.

Last thing I would look at is to replace the HDD. But only when all other options are out.
