Dual GPU vs Single

I've seen other posts and it seems consensus is single is better. However I'm def on a budget,
running a 2500k@4.5 with a z77 with 2x 16x pcie

So my budget is no more than 100 per card if I buy 2 and really don't want to spend more than 130-50 if I were to do only one. I plan on dual monitors in the future.

250/60x was on mind for dual/single but hell id do even cheaper cards in dual what do you think Tomshardware!?!?!?

250X does not have 50% of the performance of the 280, 260X would be close and maybe a little more than 50% but two cards will only have around 160-170% tops the performance of the single card so neither solution will reach the performance of the 280.

Usually a single card is always recommended. The idea is to buy the best single card within ones budget, (exception may be if one is looking at a manufactured dual card). Later when times come to upgrade, the decision to add another card are buy the single best card at that time.
I would not recommend starting off with a two card setup personally unless you are looking at extreme setups.

rolli59 has made a very good recommendation above.

Aight great answers from both but gave it to rolli for dual post and being first.:) Thank it did help i think I will go with the 260x and then later on month or two get another
I would have to wait 2 weeks to get that card and really dont want to also the 260x will run most everything ibneed anyway.
thanks again! Thanks all
