Hi,
I would like to give my gaming computer a bit bump without spending to much money so I thought about getting a 2n graphic card. I currently have

- Asus P7P55D Pro
- ATI 5850, Sapphire Vapor-X
- Enermax modu82+525 W

Is this setup compatible with crossfire ?
Will the power supply be strong enough ?
How much performance can I expect ? My screen has a 1680 x 1050 resolution
Should I get exactly the same graphic card (same vendor) or any ATI 5850 will do ?

cheers

Solution
PSU is too weak for Cross fire. you will need at least a 750W PSU.
Any Ati 5850-5870 or 6850-6870 will work. they are the same chips so manufacture does not matter.
performance boost should be around 25-30% more.

Yes, that motherboard is Crossfire capable. Motherboard Overview

Will the power supply be strong enough ?

No. Specs recommend a 500 watt PSU for a single card configured system. I'd recommend at least a 750 watt PSU for a Crossfire set up.

Anywhere from 0% - 65% depending on the game.

Any AMD HD5850 will do.

Note that given the cost of the card plus a new power supply, I'd probably consider going with a newer single card solution to run on your current power supply (though I'd also recommend replacing that as well, eventually).
