I am confused on the fact of memory speed. The question is that I'm getting Memory for my computer, which is G.Skill Tridents www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231587. Is it a (2x4) kit; with speeds of 2400. If I were to get another set could my motherboard still run another set?

Yes, that's why there are 4 memory dim slots.

However, the extra 2 are there for more memory capacity, so if you think that adding 4 sticks instead of 2 will increase memory performance, it won't. That's because that motherboard is a dual channel mobo. Now if you were talking about quad channel then sure 4 sticks will increase memory speed.

Dual and quad channel don't increase memory speed they only add throughput from the RAM to the memory controller. In the real world single vs dual channel works out to about a 5% increase in overall performance.
