So I've been slowly adding new parts to my PC over the past couple years and I'm just curious to when I should upgrade my i5 3570k processor.

I got it back in 2012, but i have noticed that there are newer ones out? I usually play games of all genres and graphics so do you guy's recommend upgrading now or maybe in another couple years?

Solution
you don´t need any upgrade yet .
it won´t be worth the extra money and effort .
haswell chips brought only about 10% overall performance boost over ivy bridge generation .

as mentioned above , upgrading your gpu to something like gtx 970
will make a huge difference in your gaming experience

it's only 1 generation old, so i wouldn't really bother doing a full upgrade until it's 3 generations old. then you'll actually notice a larger jump in performance and by then the graphics cards will also be significantly better.

unless you've got money to burn, that is....

save your money until JUN aka R9 300 announce date grap a GPU upgrade by them

another fact u wont need a CPU upgrade until that I5 is 5-6 years old (with Overclocking Of course)

DX12 will be more CPU efficient (like mantle) so that CPU will last alot of time the 2500K is more than 4 years old and has 0 bottlenecks when Oc'ed
