So I really need a desktop because my laptop is old and on its way out, I've never really had a desktop before so dont know much about pc's in general so please bare with me.

I'm torn between two pre'builds one had a AMD A8 APU and no dedicated graphics card and the other has a quadcore i5 with a Nvidia GTX 650 1GB card.

Which would be best for gaming? I'll Link both before

AMD Build: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I44C9NA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=16IKR8DO3DSOX&coliid=IYNRSLH1H1AYD&psc=1

Intel Build: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00C72IR5O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=16IKR8DO3DSOX&coliid=IPG32YKZN1IDL

Please tell me what gaming performance id see from each and what id be able to roughly play

Well the Intel would be better for sure.. But the question is are both of those really that great? And the answer is definitely not. In a game like BF4, you would be seeing medium settings @1080p and some solid, playable FPS, on crysis 3 you will be looking at about 40 FPS on low @ 1080p.

What games will you be playing?

Have you ever considered just building your own computer? It is really really easy.

This is what you could get for building your own:

Not to mention the fact that these parts are way way better than the ones used in those pre builts. And I didn't even noticed that they are used.. Yeah I would advise against that.
