I have an old Acer HT2000 motherboard and I am trying to boot linux mint. The usb boots fine on my laptop so I know that is working. I've gone through the BIOS (Phoenix) and made sure it will boot from USB. The USB appears in the BIOS. I have also selected the USB in the boot menu. But nothing works. I have tried with a bootable cd and still no luck.

I know the motherboard works as I have been able to boot WinXP from the disk.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The drive is a DVD and works with other cds/dvds.
