So I was using a gaming pc that i build and I recently aquired and Alienware Aurora r4 from a friend. My gaming pc has a i5 3570k, Asrock z77 extreme 6 mobo, 8 gb Corsair Vengeance, gtx 780ti and an 850w corsair psupply. The Alienware has an i7 3930k, 16gb ram and a gtx 680. I took my gtx 780ti and put it in the Alienware. Problem is i feel like i'm not getting as much performance as my gaming rig i built. I specifically play Final Fantasy 14 and i get lag and unsmooth fps stutter/drops. Some other games that i play feel the same way. Should i just put my 780ti back in my gaming rig and call it a day or am i expecting to much out of this i7 3930k?

From a gaming perspective, you're expectations for the i7 3930k is way too high. You may get a few more fps with the i7, but nothing earth shattering. Other applications like media encoding will show much love for the i7.
