Asrock H97 - Not detecting more than 2TB

Initially I installed windows and found that it could only detect 2TB on my drives.

That's my motherboard. From what I read, I need to enable GPT, but my OS was already installed. When I we to reinstall it, I deleted that install, then this happened.

Any help would be nice. I tried searching for a way to ensure UEFI was enable for those drives but I haven't had any luck.

Hi,
I'm Davis from ASRock HQ TSD.

If you want to use over 2TB volume to be system disk as single partition, below three conditions must be required:
1.Your operating system must be windows vista x64 SP1 or newer OS.
2.UEFI BIOS.
3.GPT disk format.
Please refer below steps to re-install OS as GPT mode.
Step 1. You must have a OS CD or USB, and put into your disk.
Step 2. Keep press F11 to enter Boot Menu when you boot up then choose UEFI: CD/DVD Drive or USB stick
Step 3. Follow the steps that you re-install the OS.

This is because of the limitations of Master boot record (MBR) partitioning. MBR support up to 2 TIB of memory while GPT will support up to 8 ZIB (this is very very very big)

you don't have a choice but to reinstall windows from scratch and create a GPT Boot record partition on you drive.

EDIT : Booting from GPT partition is only supported by x64 versions of windows as GPT partition uses 64 bit for storing logical block addresses.

well then you should be able to get into options and then partition your disk into GPT. if you can't, follow this tutorial to do it from OS and then reinstall windows on this disk.

This is what I don't understand... My motherboard is supposed to support UEFI but yet before the install they still all appear to be MBR. I've tried digging through my motherboard settings and I can't seem to find a way to enable it.

And then what? Re-install Windows on the new GPT drive, boot to it, and do the same to the original boot drive?

If you want to use the over 2TB disk to be data disk,
step 1. You must install OS to another disk to be your system disk.
step 2. Please follow these steps to change your disk(4TB) to GPT mode.
Computer Management > Disk Management > delete volume (2TB) > right click Disk(4TB) > Convert to GPT Disk > create a New Simple Volume
