Specs:
iBuyPower: CZ-17 Valkyrie
Windows 7
Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)

Problem:
The problem started when I removed the Qualcomm Killer Network Manager from my computer via the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. Removing this program also disabled my Ethernet Adapter (I am on wireless right now.) I went to device manager and see the Ethernet Adapter listed under Network Adapters with a yellow exclamation mark in a triangle next to it. I attempted to re install the drivers for the Ethernet adapter, but it wouldn't work. If I try to update the drivers while the adapter is in this state, I am simply told that the driver is up to date already. So I completely uninstalled the adapter and drivers from the device manager and restarted my computer. I went back to device manager and the adapter now appears under "Other Devices" as "Ethernet Controller." If I right-click and click "update driver," then select the driver (which I have downloaded and have saved to my desktop,) then the following error appears:

---------------------------------------------
Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)

The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.

If you know the manufacturer of the device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.
------------------------------------------------

So using that error, I researched what to do and found the following solution on Microsoft's support center (for windows 8.)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/823771

I followed the instructions, but when I got to the registry editor on my computer, I had no idea what to look for/delete, so I did not delete anything.

EDIT:
Attempting to update the driver moves the Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) back under Network Adapters with a yellow exclamation mark in a triangle next to it, however, I've noticed that a "# *number* appears next to it each time. By this I mean that under network adapters, it doesn't just say "Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)" it actually says

Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) #9.
and I distinctly remember over the previous hours, saying:
Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) #4
and
Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) #3.
when trying to follow the above steps.

This leads me to believe that I have some hidden or un-overwritten devices of the same name, however "view hidden devices" does not yield me any other entries of the same name.
END EDIT

EDIT 2:
After trying to update the driver software, getting the above error and restarting my computer, upon start-up, my computer appears to be trying to auto-install the driver as indicated by the symbol in the taskbar (the one with the green circle moving around the device symbol.) Clicking on the "installing device" icon brings up the Driver Software installation box which says that Device driver software was not successfully installed and shows the Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) #12 (note it now says 12, where it said 9 before on device manager, I never say a #10 or #11) with a red X and the word "Failed" next to it.
END EDIT 2

Now I have no idea what to do, or what to try next. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I fixed the issue....:pfff:
Sometimes the simplest solution is the best.

I went to the iBuyPower driver's page: http://www.ibuypower.com/Download/Drivers/CZ-17/
which provided me with a full free re-download and set-up wizard for the Qualcomm Killer Network Manager. Following the set-up wizard and a restart automatically fixed everything.

I don't know if there is a way to have the driver correctly installed without the Qualcomm Killer Network Manager software, but this gets the Ethernet adapter working again.

Moral of the Story: Don't over-complicate things.
