Upgrading from a factory Nvidia 760 Graphics card running an i7 processor.

I want to buy an Nvidia GeForce 980 graphics card to boost my gameplay on my new 4k monitor but I have no clue how to know if it will be compatible with my current set up. What would be the best way to go about finding out?

4k monitor with one gtx 980 is a really bad choice, since it can barley get over 30-60 fps in modern games (it can't even get above 30 in some). Either your going to have to play on mid settings or crack the resolution down a bit. Also the best way is to place your entire specs on pcpartpicker.com and it will tell you if they are compatible with each other.

Those are the exact specs that Asus has to give me for my computer. I can go and get individual model numbers of parts if it would help you find the answer to my nubish question. I will also fill out the form you have given me after work today. I am unfortunately doing this right before bed. It is also worth noting that the desktop itself was given to me by my older brother as a gift. He recommended upgrading the graphics card since I wanted to play games like CIV 5, Titanfall, Evolve, and Crysis 3 on my pc at peak performance. The 4k monitor is not my main concern. It was won in a raffle for my club and I can easily make do with a resolution of 1080P or something slightly higher if it will keep me at 60FPS

In that case, the model number of the PSU and the 4K monitor would be appreciated. Since the computer is H81 (no SLI), you'll be fine on a 500 W PSU, but some OEM computers have PSUs that are only suitable for use as fireworks. If the 4K monitor Supports GSync, a 30-60 FPS range would be ideal (preferably not too close to 30). You'd definitely want to lower details on Crysis, though since it is 4K, you probably won't mind turning off AA as well (or at least using MFAA)
