since i dislike installing software for a one-time use, is there a portable / run-from-usb drive cloning software that can clone a live (in-use) OS onto a replacement hard drive?
alternately - a portable usb program that can generate an image file that i can store for future recovery? kind of like making an iso and saving it to my portable hard drive, one iso per computer (in a manner of speaking).
i know what Win7 and Win8 have built-in functions, but XP doesn't and some of the machines in question are running XP (there might even be one or two running Win2k)
