I have a Gateway E6610D case (must be made in 2006) and now I got an MSI B75A-G41, but I've been told not to plug the usb wires to avoid shorting or smth. They offered to sell me a new case.
i can still use use rear usbs right?
what is this all about?

I had to make sure as this is weird... thanks

Anyway i read the manual and there's a warning for usb 2.0 connectors
VCC and GND pins must be connected correctly to avoid possible damage.
I guess this is what worried the guy I got it from? how on earth can they possibly be incorrectly connected? The wires are all there!?

on the connector and also on the header(on mother board) one of the pins has been omitted. You must line the header and connector up correctly, as shown below, before you plug the connector in.
