BSOD on boot with latest AMD graphic driver

I own an HP Pavilion laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 8670 graphic card, Windows 8.1.

Long story short, i am stuck with the mobility driver 14.9 because the latest stable Omega driver, and the latest beta driver both give me a BSOD at every boot causing a reboot of the system, the bsod says

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (atikmdag.sys)

it only happens during the boot, never while using games o waching videos; i already tried this procedure http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=363233 but it didn't solve the problem, and this never happens with the 14.9 driver so i keep this for now.

Any suggestions?

If the current driver works okay you should not be attempting to update it anyway. Just because an updated driver is available doesn't mean you must install it - - so the easiest fix is just leave it alone.

There's a myth that you absolutely must keep all drivers up do date - - that's just hogwash.

i know that, it's just a personal "obsession" to have always the latest driver installed, i'm not even a big gamer but if there's a solution for that error it can be useful to other people that need to use the latest driver.

That's why they are called BETA Drivers. They are not recommended for consumer use nor they are WHQL tested and certified.

Now, as far as the latest Omega drivers are concerned, they shouldn't be having any problems. Have you tried doing total uninstall of the 14.9 and then installing the Omega drivers from the scratch?

yes, i use the amd cleanup utility every time (it literally uninstalls also the integrated intel graphic driver, so there's no doubt it does a good job). when the omega driver were released i tried three times to install/uninstall those and the 14.9, once even after a clean install of windows because i just bought a new ssd, and the problem is always that; a bsod after every boot and then a reboot.
