I have a Promise NS4600 SmartStor with 4 2tb HD. Has been working fine. I upgraded to windows 8.1 from windows 8 on all of my pc's now I cannot connect to the NAS. I try doing it with the mapped drives and it says they are already in use. I try to asscess over the web and is says cannot be displayed. All of the lights on the NAS show they are working properly, the net light flashes and all. Any ideas?

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, rwhitt47!

I'd suggest to check the Wireless connections on your PC, first. The reason might be your network connection not being set up to see shared content from other devices. Here's a tutorial with very easy steps to see if that's the case: http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/article/549572/why_can_t_access_my_nas_device_from_my_windows_8_1_computer_/

Another thing you could try is resetting both your router and your NAS, it might help as well. I'd also check the Windows updates, sometimes they can trigger similar issues.

Check the network adapter properties as well and uninstall Client for Microsoft Networks and then Re-install it. Reboot the PC and see what happens.

Keep me posted! Hope this helps! :)
