Hi all,

Looking to upgrade to a better gaming mouse. I play all kinds of games really, mobas, strategy, actions etc. Also use office application a lot of web browsing. So I need an all purpose mouse. I need something that is comfortable use for long sessions. I use a palm grip. Which of the named above is best for me?

Feel free to suggest a different mouse that's suitable for me in your opinion though.

Thanks

depends on what size mice you prefer as well as individual grip style.

i am a deathadder user (i prefer the old 3.5g) as it fits my hands best. i like wide mice that i can semi-palm grip. i like to grip the mice with thumb & ringfinger when i need to pick it up and move it around as well and it works great for this. none of the other mice i've had have been as comfortable.

some of the roccat kone products are similar to deathadders in size and shape so make good alternatives.

i used the g502 proteus when i was without a mouse and suprisingly the button placement was fairly easy to use despite having many more buttons than i was used to. overall shape and comfort was good though i ended up returning it for two major reasons. first, the mouse is not wide enough on the right side or slopes inward which caused pinky pain and discomfort for me which was not acceptable. the other is that i despise hyperscroll and the mode on the g502 which is clicky feels insubstantial (feels like rolling a lumpy wheel over a pin). if the mouse was just a bit wider or eliminated my pinky finger issue and had a better scroll wheel it would have been great.

i am now on my second deathadder 3.5g as after 4-5 years of constant use i finally wore out the switches. i currently have the mouse apart and need to find time to fix it (switches are available, easy to install and dirt cheap). i ended up getting my second for about $35 and am once again using a comfortable mouse (not the temporary portable mouse i was using in the meantime).

there are other choices of course but at least for me i've found the deathadder best.

Thanks for your input. Yes I'm currently using the Perixx mx1000 the mouse is not wide enough for my on the right side and I too feel pain on my pinker finger after prolonged usage. One of the main reasons why I want to switch to a different mouse that does not give me this issue. Looks like I may have to avoid the g502
