Hey guys!... was just looking for a little bit of advice... I'm not a complete noob, but I am by no means an expert

about 3 years ago I built a mid range gaming rig, using the advice from this forum and 3 years later I am returning for some more advice :p... what an investment it was though... absolutely love it... and still love it to this day... however I'm looking into having a multi screen battlestation configuration and would defo need an upgrade for this... I've saved about a grand over the years specifically for upgrading my rig and I hope I can work with what I currently have
My issue is compatibility... it's not as simple as taking 1 part out and replacing it with an upgrade is it?... there are compatibility and power supply issues to think about right?

so with that in mind I was wondering if I could list my current set up and for anyone to chime in what direction I should go

Asrock z77 extreme4
XFX R7950 i5 3750K 3.4GHz
Corsair CX 600W
CoolerMaster Hyper212 EVO4
2 x XMS3 4GB RAM

so this is my current setup... was looking at improving the graphics card obviously... and what else? I hope the i5 is good for another couple of years so I don't have to touch that...I was told when I initially built it... anything more than a i5 is overkill for gaming...so I saved money on that instead of going with an i7
so first off...is this a good candidate for an upgrade?
cheers!

What monitors are you using and what inputs do they have? I'd probably recommend trying a multi-monitor setup with the card you have and see how it performs first. Then if you're not happy, upgrade the processor. Nothing else (except for maybe the PSU) needs to be upgraded.

right now I just have 1 dell Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23 but i'd be open to buying 3 new monitors that are better suited to multi monitoring

I couldn't imagine the current card dealing with 3 screens tbh...at least on some of the more modern games

its definitely still hanging in there but each years its slowly going from midrange to low end

great, I will most likely sell my 7950 to fund the next card...is the AMD equivalent to the GTX970 a R9 290 X? or are they completely different

I had this in mind
