Will the NZXT Kraken X41 fit in Fractal Design R4 - decent 140mm fan to replace stock?

Hi all

I'm looking to upgrade my aging Corsair H40 with the NZXT Kraken X41. I've read all good reviews about it apart from the stock fan that can get too noisy at full speed. That's not a problem for me as I'm happy to replace the stock fan with another one that will push equal CFM but will stay at 20 dba or slightly higher at top speed so if you got any recommendations that'd be awesome! :)

My main question though is, will it fit in my Fractal Design R4? I love my case, absolutely love the size, the cable management etc so if anyone has first hand experience can you please let me know? At this point I'd like to say I'm more than happy to experiment with cable ties to hold it together if it comes to that. My H40 is currently in place with cable ties instead of screws to minimize vibrations and I have to say it works fine!

Many thanks! :)

your Fractal Design R4 will easily mount the Kraken :D. The Design r4 allows for you to mount radiators on the roof of the case or you can get creative and mount it on the exhaust fan and do some sort of push pull config. From the reviews I've seen on it the tubing is very soft and flexible so you should have no problem finding a place to put it. And for your question on a high CFM fan that's quiet you got to go for Noctua. The color they chose for the fan is extremely ugly but if that doesn't bother you than it's the beset fan you can get for the money :D.

I've read a review from newegg from someone that was saying that it didn't fit properly. On the other hand I've seen builds where people have managed to install it on the R4.

My only concern with mounting it on the top is that there will be noise escaping from the top. Currently I have it on the exhaust fan. I've got Fan-Radiator-Fan ie radiator sandwiched between 2 undervolted fans so they're silent blowing air out the back and it works ok but not ideally hence why I want something more effective.
