Hello all, I recently purchased the the AMD FX 8350 because I have heard that they are one of the best AMD processors for the money. However, I was not thinking before I purchased it and I didn't see how much of a performance boost it would actually give my rig. So as I am waiting on my new processor to arrive, I thought I would ask and see how much of a performance boost it would actually give me. I primarily use my PC for gaming but, I would like to do some video editing as well. Thanks for the help!

Here is my build:
AMD Phenom 4x ii 965
MSI Radeon R9 290
8GB RAM
SeaSonic 850w
MSI 970A-G43 Motherboard (I know its not the best board for the processor)
1TB Hard-drive
250GB Hard-drive

Well it would give quite a big boost but there's a major complication. Your motherboard technically doesn't support the 8350. However, this question has actually been asked many times and each time there are reports of the 8350 damaging the MSI 970A-G43 motherboard. I wouldn't take it out of the box. I'd return it the next day. The best thing you can do is upgrade that motherboard.
