Seagate external hard drive NOT BEING DETECTED!!

I recently plugged my external hardrive (Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive Model:SRFD00F1) into my MacBook Pro hoping to peruse and store some photos only to find that it was not being detected. When I plugged it in the following occurred:

1: Solid light turns on, accompanied by 20 beeps(almost more of a buzz) in rapid succession

2. Light remains solid for ~30seconds, after which it begins to blink

3. Blinking light remains until disconnected .

Could this be a problem with the connection / enclosure? Or are my files in danger of being corrupted or lost?

What is my best course of action to fix my drive or at the very least access and save my files?

Thanks,

Danny

Hi there bioguy,

I guess your drive is nowhere to be recognized right?(Disk Utility)
If this is the case, I would say that is highly possible that the issue you are facing is cable/enclosure related.
You need to try connecting the drive with another cable(Y type preferably). If the issue persists, you can consider taking the drive out of the enclosure and connecting it with SATA to USB cable(or enclosure). Just make sure that the drive has no hardware encryption. Also, keep in mind that taking the drive out of the enclosure will most probably void the warranty. If the issue persists though, you may need to use some data recovery company help.
