I recently got into underclocking and undervolting because of the thermals that it didnt produce..... i had my fx 8320 at 1.1875 volts at stock speeds and WOW i didnt top 38 C. im getting back into overclocking and now ive hit 4.4 ghz at 1.3625 volts stable after running prime95 for over an hour. Does this sound right?

which software do you use to monitor temperature ?

If it is Coretemp, then you are doing it wrong as core temp is misreading temperature on FX chip. As an example, Core temp says my FX-8350 OC at 4.7 GHz is at 18 C at idle while my motherboard CPU socket sensor says it is at 39 C. I am watercooling with an H100i.

If you want to know you temps get HWinfo and look Motherboard CPU socket sensor to get right temperature.

Also FX-8XXX chip shoul not get higher 61 C. consider 70 C as your max allowed.

I always used HWINFO and also if you run prime you need to run for more than an hour for sure run for at least 8hrs dont worry it will shut off if anything happens for me getting past 5ghz i was fine for an hour but after two its BSOD so just run it for longer and if it fails put my volts if its getting to hot lower the volts

thanks, i tried out this program and running 3.5 ghz at 1.2125 volts i only get up to 54 C and idle at 32 C. That sounds about right. Thanks again!
