i5 4690k at 4.9GHz! What should I shoot for a safe long term OC?

So I ran some tests on this chip to see exactly what I was dealing with, and it turns out it's a bit of a beast! 4.9GHz at 1.33 volts passed Realbench and with Prime95 FFTs, the max temps were around 79C (+5C ambient) with my Kraken x41:

So, my question is should I attempt a long term OC of 4.8 or 4.7GHz?? 4.8 passed at 1.29 volts and Prime95 FFTs maxed at 72C. 4.7 Passed at 1.25 volts with even lower temps.

Also, my mobo is a Asrock Z97E-itx.

Thank you for reading. Nice chip.

I think you've identified 4.8 as the ideal setting, which will give you thermal headroom for summer environmental conditions with higher ambient temperatures.

Well done! If I were you, I would declare victory, sit back and partake in numerous large overclocked beers! :D

Enjoy your rig!

Most cpu experts don't recommend going over 1.3 volts because it has been shown that those voltages shorten the life of the cpu by about a year.

I would personally go with 4.8 simply because it's at 1.29 volts @ 72c. Which is amazing. I don't think you'd see a big difference between 4.9 ghz and 4.8. Plus you'd maintain your cpu's life span.

Yes that's the version I used. I read your post on the Intel Temp Guide before starting.

I had an ambient of 17C so I added 5C to factor in it being cooler in my apartment.

I've been running 1.45 to 1.51v for the past 2 years. My processor has not died yet.
