Hello and thank you in advance for any help. I am using:

-Gigabyte GA-z77mx-d3h MOBO.
-2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance DDR3. 8GB RAM each.
-Windows 7 Pro. x64.

I have already tried the following:

-Cleaned dust from DIMM and cleaned RAM sticks.
-Used every combination of RAM placement, including different color slots.
-Double checked settings in msconfig and ensured no max is set on RAM.
-Updated RAM settings in BIOS to increase voltage and set to XPM/Extreme setting.

When I used only a single Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM stick and booted up, both BIOS and Windows only read 4 GB of RAM. It seems it is halving each stick independently, no matter which slot it is placed in.

Any help would be appreciated.

No, I'm not sure. I would have to trust Corsair at this point. Unfortunately I have no other computer to test on at the moment. However, I will keep that possibility in mind.

The model is Vengeance Low Profile - 8GB Dual Channel DDR3.
The model number is CML8GX3M2A1600C9.

Well, there is your answer. Its an 8 GB RAM kit. Why did you think it was 16?

Because there are 2 x 8GB sticks installed equaling 16GB total.

Yes, the model # is for a 2x4GB set, many see 8GB on the package and think each is 8 GB this happens often with many of the different manufacturers ;)

Thanks Falcon. I forgot it's 'kit' even though each stick is labeled 8GB, it's 8GB for the TWO. Lesson learned.
