Can SSD caching of a HDD drive increase sequential read speed.

Hi, I have a SSD drive for my OS and Applications. I use my HDD drive to store movies, ISOs and backups. All are kind of large files. If I use part of my SSD (such as 64gb) would that help increase the sequential read speed? Thanks.
